Poor sanitation and hygiene is a cross-cutting health concern in all rural Ugandan villages which are responsible for 17% of all deaths of children under five according to World Health Organisation. StepUp educates communities about the importance of home and personal hygiene, and sanitation in relation to good health.

Tremendous progress have been made since we trained our communities on the importance of good sanitation. Within a year, the community members have embraced good sanitation and they are working tirelessly to ensure they all have well-built toilets with washable floors.
